Software was easy. Physics is harder.

After 20 years in software, I traded code for kinetic art. 100+ failed prototypes and 1,000,000 steps later, Mr. Slinky is a masterclass in mechanical precision. Now, I’m looking for the Founding Crew to help build the future of engineering kits.

While I finalize the full motorized kit, I’m making a limited number of Slinky Pro Springs available for early adopters. After 100+ failed prototypes, this version is specifically engineered for high-cycle durability and precision motion.

It is perfectly suited for custom kinetic sculptures and Lego automatic staircases, as featured by @diamabolo on YouTube and Instagram.

Not Your Childhood Slinky
The 3D-Engineered Advantage

Unlike mass-produced metal or injection-molded springs, the Mr. Slinky is a precision-tuned mechanical component.

Specialized Movement

While original springs are "floppy," ours is engineered with a specific stiffness-to-weight ratio. This creates a "snappy" return and a rhythmic, predictable walk that is perfect for motorized staircases.

Zero Tangles

The geometry is designed to maintain its shape even under the high-cycle stress of 1,000,000 steps.

Custom Physics

It doesn't just fall; it marches.

Proven by Physics.
Trusted by Makers.

1,000,000+ Steps Logged

This isn't a toy—it’s an endurance-tested mechanical component.

As Seen on YouTube

Optimized for high-performance LEGO® automatic stairs, as featured by @diamabolo.

Built in Public

Join thousands of engineers and hobbyists following the iterative journey from failed prototype to final kit.

Premium Materials

Small Batch Manufacturing and Quality Control. Using only the finest materials for each component.

The Ultimate Maker Component
Compatible with the Worlds You Build

Mr. Slinky is designed to play well with others. Whether you are building a Great Ball Contraption (GBC) or a kinetic sculpture, our spring fits the grid.

LEGO® Ready

Optimized for LEGO-based automatic stairs. As seen in the incredible builds by @diamabolo on YouTube, the Mr. Slinky spring provides the consistency needed for complex plastic brick mechanisms.

The Kapla Challenge

Perfect for wooden plank builds (Kapla) or 3D-printed staircases.

Standardized Hardware

Designed by an engineer, for engineers.

The Story of Mr. Slinky:
From 3D Prints to Engineering Art

Beyond art, Mr. Slinky is a high-durability tool for education.

The Spark

What started a year ago as a father-and-son project—3D printing slinkies for my son—turned into an engineering obsession. We wanted to see them walk forever, so we set out to build the perfect "infinite staircase."

The Inspiration

We stood on the shoulders of giants. We drew inspiration from the paper mechanisms on YouTube, the legendary wooden builds of Matthias Wandel, and the viral scale of Mark Rober. We wanted to take those concepts and push them further using modern precision.

The Prototype

Our first machines were a feat of 3D printing. Almost every component—the spur gears, the drive chain, the steps—was printed in-house. After showcasing our work at Maker Faire Prague and receiving overwhelming feedback from the maker community, I realized this was more than a hobby.

The Pivot

After 20 years leading a software company, I decided to leave the virtual world behind to build something tactile. I’ve traded code for kinetic physics. Today, Mr. Slinky is evolving from a one-off build into a professional hardware kit, refined for production and designed to fit perfectly on your desk.

Physics You Can Touch

Beyond art, Mr. Slinky is a high-durability tool for education.

Wave Physics

Demonstrate longitudinal and transverse waves with a spring that won't deform after one use.

Energy Transfer

A perfect visual aid for potential and kinetic energy experiments.

Engineering Grit

Use the "1,000,000 steps" story to teach students about stress testing, prototyping, and the "Software to Hardware" journey.
