Not Just My Obsession

What the community says about the infinite walk

"The documentation reflects a software engineer’s mind—logical, step-by-step, and zero fluff. The precision of the 3D-printed gears and the durability of the spring are unlike anything I’ve seen in a home kit."
TH

"I’ve been a developer for 15 years and wanted to build something tactile. Mr. Slinky was the perfect bridge. It’s hypnotic, high-quality, and looks incredible on my desk. Physics is indeed harder, but much more rewarding."
DA
David
United States
"After seeing the 1,000,000-step prototype at Maker Faire Prague, I knew this was a serious project. It’s the perfect blend of father-son nostalgia and high-end mechanical art. Truly an 'Engineering Flex'."

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When will the kit be available?
We are currently in production with the first batch of kits, which will ship in June 2026. You can secure your kit now by joining the Founding Crew.
How do I join the Founding Crew?
You can join the Founding Crew by signing up to the waitlist on our website. We'll keep you updated on the latest news and exclusive offers.
Is the kit open source?
Not at this time, but we are considering it for future releases. But we are committed to transparency and community involvement.
If something breaks, can I fix it?
Yes, since the kit is 3D printed, you can easily replace any broken parts. All components will be released as open source. If you experience any issues, we offer replacement parts and support to get you back to building.
What skills do I need?
Kit assembly is designed to be intuitive and accessible, with a detailed manual guiding you through each step. No prior engineering experience is required—just a willingness to learn and build. The kit is perfect for makers, hobbyists, and anyone curious about the mechanics of motion. Kids ages 10 and up can enjoy building with adult supervision.
Is speed control automatic?
For now the kit includes a manual PWM controller that allows you to adjust the motor speed and, consequently, the walking rhythm of the machine. We are working on extension module with Raspberry Pi Pico that will allow for more advanced control options, including automatic speed adjustments using small laser sensors that detect the position of the steps. This will be available as an add-on for those who want to take their machine to the next level a eventually run Mr. Slinky 24/7/365.
